Today would have been my parents’ 40th wedding anniversary. So as a tribute, this week I’ve dedicated all the videos to the artists and songs that my mom and dad liked (or, I assumed liked).
Featuring country artists from the 1940′s through the early 1980′s, this videos include works by: The Carter Family, Merle Haggard, Elvis Presley, Hank Snow, on Rich, Faron Young, David Houston, Gene Watson, Crystal Gayle and Eddy Rabbit, Waylon Jennings, Charlie Pride, Tammy Wynette and George Jones, Kitty Wells, Webb Pierce, Lefty Frizzell, Buck Owens and Hank Thompson.
If you are a fan of classic country music, then you’ll enjoy the videos. If you aren’t familiar with them, take a few minutes to expand your musical knowledge base.
As a bonus: If you aren’t familiar with the work on Don Rich, I’ve featured a number of his videos as bonus videos this week. As guitar player, his sound is still unique more than 30 years after his death. His harmony with Buck Owens gave Buck Owens and his Buckaroo’s the sounds that made him a legend.
