It is the fifteenth of the month and that can only mean one thing from here on … Today you get the best free Mixtape floating around the blog world.
For a hotter than normal July, I thought it would be appropriate to share with you one of my favorite summer jams. First and foremost, Franki Chan is the creator of a fantastic blog iheartcomix.com that is always on top of the best of the underground hip-hop, electro and house scene. He also owns a very eclectic record label that features one of my favorite indie bands Matt & Kim.
You are in for a real treat though if you have not heard him spin. Chan, like any great DJ out there today, follows the structure of every good story, it must have a dramatic Beginning, Middle and End.
This mix starts off with bang, a very 80′s synth-feeling Aeroplane remix of Breakbot’s newest single “Baby I’m Yours.” Once he gets to Fred Falk remix of The Whitest Boy Alive’s “Golden Cage”, I start getting shivers up my spin. Man, I have been diggin’ that song for what seems to be years now. I couldn’t of picked a better way to end than with LCD Soundsystem’s (another one of my favorites) “All I want.”
