Obsessions :: Coming To Atlanta
This week’s top five songs are from artists that will be in Atlanta very soon. I not only recommend you check out these tracks, but come to the shows. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
1. “Weekend” – Smith Westerns from their album Dye It Blonde. They’ll be in Athens, GA on Jan. 31 at the 40 Watt and Atlanta, GA on Feb. 1 at the Drunken Unicorn with YUCK.
2. “Freakout” – Tapes ‘n Tapes from the upcoming release Outside. They’ll be in Atlanta on Feb. 11 at The EARL.
3. “Seafarer” – Tennis from their highly anticipated release, Cape Dory. They’ll be in Atlanta with Say Hi on March 11 at The EARL.
4. “Something In Common” – Free Energy. This track is a b-side on their self-titled single from 2009. I’ve seen them many times live, they are great group of guys that put on a great show. They’ll be at The EARL on Feb. 9.
5. “Golden Haze” – Wild Nothing. This is the title track from their most recent EP. They’ll be at the Drunken Unicorn with Abe Vigoda on Feb. 8.
Editor’s Note: Emily Hogan is one of the foremost authorities in emerging music in Atlanta. You can follow her on Twitter @emilyhogan or via her Web site Wholly Roller.
