The Gram Parson Foundation
The Gram Parsons Foundation, first started in 2004, has announced that it will be re-launching and will kick-off this new beginning with a launch event on March 14, 2012, at the Hotel San Jose in Austin, TX.
Slated to perform are: Blitzen Trapper, Brendan Benson (with Eric Burdon), Cory Chisel & The Wandering Sons, Great Lake Swimmers, Alberta Cross, Poor Moon (Christian and Casey from Fleet Foxes), Jenny O., Shurman, Henry Wagons and Amy Cook.
According to the foundation’s press release, it will focus on the support musicians and artists worldwide with addiction and recovery services in addition to providing solutions to drug and alcohol addiction and imparting a message of prevention and awareness to school-aged children.
At the launch event, there will be a fundraiser that will feature, Polly Parsons, Gram Parsons’ daughter, as a speaker.
