The Raveonettes “Observations”; Fall Tour Dates
The Raveonettes are releasing their newest album, Observator, on September 11, 2012. The duo has released the track “Observations” which can be heard in this post. It’s another strong single by the one of my favorite bands of the last decade.
The Raveonettes “Observations”
“‘Observations’ is sort of the blue print for this album,” said Sune Rose Wagner. “It captures a universal feeling of the outsider in his daily life, his longing and losses in love and his primordial instinct of survival. Sharin [Foo] and I went into the legendary Sunset Sound Studios for a week – where The Doors recorded a lot of their classic albums. It was there that a new dimension to the Raveonettes began to develop. The song Observations is very important in that respect; it’s the first time we’ve ever used the piano and what a glorious, gloomy sound it makes. We knew immediately that it was something we needed to expand on. But make no mistake; Observator is still a gorgeous guitar album.”
The duo will be on tour this Fall. Complete dates below. Read my 2007 interview with Wagner here.
