Levek “French Lessons”
Levek, the project of Florida-native David Levesque, has release “French Lessons” from his album, Look A Little Closer, out September 25, 2012. Check out the diverse, Stereolab-tinged track in this post.
Levesque bounced between Gainesville and Orlando, FL before landing in St. Augustine. He recorded the album at Medusa in Gainesville.
On the album, Levesque said, “I had no idea what this album was when I began the process of the first few tracks. All I knew was a general sound I wanted to go for. I found a common ground lyrically and the album seemed to just take off by itself from there.” That commonality tells the tale of a young girl’s struggle with mental illness and how she overcame the odds through finding shelter and trust in family and friends. This is the first material Levesque has written with a deliberate personal connection for the songwriter and ideally, the listener as well.”
