DeadJournalist.com proudly brings you this exclusive interview with Linnea Jonsson of Those Dancing Days.

What's the story behind how Those Dancing Days formed?

Cissi, Rebecka and Lisa had a band with two other girls, but when they left, Cissi, Rebecka and Lisa decided to start a new band. Cissi knew Mimmi and also knew that she really wanted to play in a band. Mimm knew me and asked if I wanted to be the new singer in the band. And then we all became very good friends.

For someone reading about the band for the first time, how would you describe the band's sound?

Well first of all, the best way of descovering a new band is not to read about it but to listen to it. But if we have to put it in words we like to describe it as pop music that makes you happy but doesn't neccesarly sound sweet.

But we would like for people to make their own description of how we sound by listening.

The band gained notoriety outside of Sweden after being featured by NME, MTV Europe and MTV2 last summer. Did you find that there was a greater demand for both the band and its music?

We didn't really know what was going on outside of Sweden but I guess by getting a lot of gigs in London you could say that people wanted us there. And they still want us there for this summer so yes to the question I guess.

Has a final release date been set for your upcoming LP? Will it feature any of the songs from your 2007 EP or will it be all original songs?

Not a final release date yet but sometime in October is the plan. We are in the middle of a discussion about including a few songs from the EP or not. It would be fun wouldn't it? We probably will include some but you'll have to wait and see.

Of the songs you've recorded, do you have a favorite to perform live?

"Those Dancing Days" because we always end with that song and then we always give it all.

We do love our live audience and they play a very important part because you get so affected by them. If they dance, we dance right back at them, it's all about teamwork between the audience and us on stage.

Given the age of the members in the band, some of whom are still in school, have you found touring to be challenging?

Me and Mimmi are still in school and of course it is challenging. You have a lot of things to do back home and then when you get back home it's hard to understand what you're doing there. Why are we in school when we can be out on tour for months instead?

When having something to do that you love, school gets even more boring then it ever was. ... Being thrown in to this music world would be challenging for anyone but in different ways prehaps. But it doesn't matter if your're a boy or girl, young or old, some things will always be tough.

The most bizarre thing that has happened to you while on tour is ... ?

Ha ha ... We are to unexperienced to be able to answer that question yet. Get back to us in a year or so and we will save you a good story.

Which do you enjoy more, performing live or writing and recording?

One thing wouldn't be fun without the other. Performing live is more enjoyable since you get to show everyone what you have created but if we were just going to perform day in and day out we would just play the same songs over and over again. Therefore the writing is just as enjoyable cause you know that you get to performe it later on.

Who and where was your first concert?

I think it was a Swedish hip hop group Fattaru in Kungsträdgården in Stockholm, outside in the summer.

What were you listening to in 1998?

Well, I was eight years old and in love with Backstreet Boys like everyone else...

Which do you prefer: Vinyl, Cassettes, CD or MP3?

I'm a comfortable person so I'm going with MP3.

One Drink; One Movie; One Album:

I've just turned 18 so i'll explore the market before I answer that one; The movie "G som i gemenskap" translation: F as in fellowship...; Those Dancing Days debut album :)
