'90's Flashback: Todd Snider
Todd Snider is what is right about singer/songwriters. He tours non-stop, he puts out new music every year or two and can tell a story through song as well as anyone in his generation. He has a new album, The Excitement Plan, that you should check out ...But I want to flashback 15 years for a minute. Grunge was at the top of its Pop popularity and Todd Snider released his debut CD, Songs for the Daily Planet, that was anything but grunge, but summed up that time as well as any album as summed up any period of musical fleeting fancy.
Take 10 minutes and listen to "Talkin' Seattle Grunge Rock Blues" and "My Generation (Part 2)" and see if you don't agree. Or better yet, track down the album and listen to the whole thing.
